Water Conservation

Water is one of our most precious resources. We don’t always treat it as such.

As a community we have come together to write to Southern Water to encourage them to repair the sewage works in East Harting and stop the leakage into the River Rother, that is causing untold damage.

We are also encouraging the use of water butts to save water.

Harting Horticultural Society has held talks teaching us about planting techniques that will mean less water is needed in our gardens.

Thanks to Eco Rother Action, the Head Ranger at Wooldbeding Estate gave a fascinating talk about how they are managing their land for a changing environment. Through interesting talks and education we’re changing our behaviours and having more respect for nature.

There is so much more we could be doing - do you have the time to help? Please e-mail us at hartingclimateaction@gmail.com
