Our Story
We are a group of local people who have come together to take action to tackle the climate crisis. We effect change through connecting individuals, working and learning together.
On the 28th October ‘21, at the historic Harting Charter Fayre, Jane Healey stood as a lone campaigner urging the Parish to take more action in the face of the climate crisis.
Successful projects had been launched over the previous decade to bring this important conversation to the Parish. Jane Healey reinvigorated these efforts by sowing the seed for real action and by bringing the community together.
Jane’s call to action excited us, and we came together to form a community group motivated to make a difference, locally.
We hosted our first Harting Repair Cafe early in 2022. On the 31st March that year, almost 100 members of the Harting community gathered together to talk about what we all wanted to do in response to climate change.
Harting Climate Action Network emerged from this community conversation. We agreed to focus on five distinct activities to drive change.

Community & Learning
Our community is strong - and together we can achieve great things. We are hungry to learn, share what we have found both within our community and further afield. Together we can make a really positive impact.
People we work with
There are many community groups working towards the same goals. We all share our knowledge and support one another. These groups include:
