Share more, buy and drive less, build connection

We have ambitions to mobilise our community to share more, buy less, drive less and in doing so build friendships and connection.

So far……

Produce in the Porch: From our first community climate conversation the Parish Church kindly opened its porch for us to share our excess fruit and vegetables during the growing season. Since then people have swapped potatoes for leeks, courgette for tomatoes, wild flowers for a bunch of parsely.

What next?

West Harting are launching a local community share scheme to share domestic and garden tools. West Harting are going to test out how it works and we hope to grow the scheme across the Parish.

‘Do you need anything? : During COVID we got very good at reaching out to one another to offer lifts or to collect things from the supermarket or pharmacy. Those quick trips we all make to local towns, use energy, emit carbon and could be avoided.

Let’s go back to offering help to one another.
